We love our pets, don’t we? Most Americans can’t resist a cute little puppy or kitten. If we could, we might just take them all home with us. But then you think about what it takes to introduce a pet into your home, especially the potty training. But have no fear – the team at Austin Steam It has a few tips to help you clean up after Fido or Fluffy’s next mess. Here’s how to clean pet stains and vomit from your carpet.
Potty Training Carpet Stains
Potty training your new pet is certainly a process, especially puppies. Kittens will soon catch on to the whole litter box thing, but puppies have to learn to let their owners know they need to go out. Only consistent practice (on their part) and patience (on ours) will win out in the end.
At some point you’re going to have an accident occur on your carpet. And then another, and another, and so on. Remember – don’t get too frustrated with your pet, he’s still learning. Just grab your handy-dandy Spot Removal Kit, put the dog outside, and follow these steps to get the potty stain out of your carpet:
Blot out all liquid possible by placing a clean towel on the spot and standing on it. Apply bacteria/enzyme digester according to the directions. When dry, remove any remaining stain with detergent solution. Rinse, then blot dry.
Then There’s the Vomit…
Some pets have sensitive stomachs. Even more pets get into things they shouldn’t and chew on or even eat them. And just like us, sometimes they just don’t feel well.
You know what’s coming next. You hear that gut-wrenching sound of a dog or cat about to vomit. You rush to get your pet outside to save your floors, but it’s too late. Put your pet outside in case it happens again, grab your Kit, hold your nose, and let’s get to work:
Scrape up as much as possible. Apply bacteria/enzyme digester according to directions. When dry, remove any remaining stain with detergent solution. Rinse, then blot dry.
Note: This process will work for any vomit clean up, including humans.
Sometimes You Have to Call In the Professionals
Our cuddly and playful friends come with all types of smells. Some, like puppy breath, are kind of cute. But after a while, your home might collect a little too much puppy love. When you walk in your home and smell your pets before you see them, it might be time to call in some professional help. Austin Steam It can handle this chore for you, cleaning your carpets, floors, and even your furniture upholstery. Don’t let pet problems get in the way of enjoying time with your best friend – or of having a clean home for the entire family.
